With the realm of blogging constantly getting bigger and bigger every single day, you’re inevitably going to come across competition. A lot of people tend to give up when they see the competition they’re up against, thinking “My blog can never be as good as theirs!” but you’re probably selling yourself short.
If you ever come across that stressful feeling of “I’m supposed to blog today and I have no topic ideas” maybe this trick of using the competition to your advance will work for you with generating new blog post ideas.
Now whilst it’s never commended to “copy” a direct idea from reading someone else’s blog, it’s not such a bad idea to take inspiration from them and make it even better. A good way to do this is to check out a blog post from a blogger who you know generally has good traffic (check out their social media statistics) and think how you can adapt your own style to this topic whilst still ensuring you’re being authentic, original and unique.
Competition in a sense is healthy because it motivates you to want to do better than your fellow competitors and makes you want to strive to make your blog posts the best they can possibly be. Why not give it a go and see what happens?
Remember, authenticity is key when blogging so by all means, get inspired by other’s posts but don’t steal their ideas. Readers value originality and unique posts!
